I wish I had spent more on a printer with low ink cartridge costs and not gone for this inexpensive printer. Hp calls it a feature that the printer refuses to print when it deems the ink cartridges are low. I call that waste. I have had problems with the wireless feature and given up. I have had problems with the printer recognising the XL cartridges, and needed HP assistance. Purchase at your own risk.

WHEN IN WIRELESS MODE VIA THE ROUTER 2 PROBLEMS ARE EVIDENT.
1/.THE PRINTER REPEATEDLY SHOWS AS "OFF LINE" ON THE PC.
2/.OTHER INTERNET BUSINESS IS SLOWED DOWN.
YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT A ONCE REPUTABLE COMPANY LIKE HP
WOULD HAVE DE-BUGGED ITEM 1 BEFORE LAUNCH.
AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Have had this for a few weeks of light use. Its a smart little gadget, nice and small on the desktop. Noisy, as many other reviewers have noted, but that doesn't bother us.
We have an apple laptop running Tiger and another running Snow Leopard. You will have to download the the latest version of HP's software from their website (it wont come with the printer). The Tiger machine can connect wirelessly to the printer no problem. However HP haven't updated the scanner driver for Snow Leopard so if you try and use HP's bundled scanning software with Snow Leopard if won't work. On the other hand you can open the scanner through Snow Leopard's printer control panel and scan wirelessly that way.

I am very pleased with this product. I had a little problem at first in installing it but this was soon easily overcome and the printer is performing well.

I had a HP printer for 10 years and it was very good so thought I would buy another when it broke down but wish I had not bothered as the HP Photosmart C4780 Touchsmart does not print photos as good as my old one they are not so colourful and it does not do as many different styles as my old one did. The old one used to print 1 or 3 or 4 or 8 photos on 1 sheet of A4 photo paper but this one cant do that its only 1 on a A4 sheet or on the 4x6 sizes so although only had this printer a month I am thinking of discarding it for a better one.
