I eventually selected the PX710W to replace a rather old and very slow Epson scanner (Perfection 1260) and a temperamental Epson printer (Inkjet Stylus Photo 830). The biggest improvement I've found is in the speed of both scanning and printing; in particular the scanner is almost instantly ready for action. The quality of both scanning and printing seems better too, though the improvement is not as dramatic as with speed. So far I have not had the problems I suffered with the Photo 830, of having laboriously to clear ink-jets each time the printer is used after a few days laying idle.
The PX710W also works beautifully as a networked facility, though I did have some problems in connecting it wirelessly and eventually reverted to ethernet, whereon all the problems vanished. One little point: In order for my computer to formally recognise the PX710W I have to start the router first, then hook up the PX710W and then my computer. Changing the order causes the computer to SAY it hasn't access to the PX710W, though it is actually connected and everything works perfectly.
Finally the PX710W is an excellent quality and quite fast stand alone copier. I'm delighted with it.

The printer is quite a bulky model, certainly much larger than I was expecting it to be. Despite several attempts, I was unable to connect it wirelessly, which was the main reason I bought it. I'm not a technical wizard admittedly, but couldn't identify the reason it wouldn't connect. This is a relatively expensive domestic printer and the outcome was let down, to say the least.

Bought to replace an Epson scanner and Epson printer. The quality of print to both paper and CD/DVDs is excellent and much better than my old printer whilst the scanner is much much quicker. Everything is in the one box (no adaptors etc) so very happy. I'm running mine through an ethernet cable so access from the PCs is very easy. Just install the software on each PC on the network and each PC can scan and print with ease. Highly recommended.

Exactly what you could expect from Epson. A breeze to set up, just follow the easy to use "idiot guide". Easy to use and excellent results from both the printer and scanner. A top product !

The printer scanner works fine, but not the wireless connection. Some computers on the network cannot print at all. Trying to do so disconnects the printer from the network. Other computers print fine. However the printer automatically drops off the network after 20 minutes or so. The Epson help have not been able to offer any solutions.
Don't buy this unless you want to connect via a USB cable.
