The printer is extremely good. Very easy to set up, especially the wireless side and the interface via the software package makes printing, copying and scanning a doddle!

 "Wifi printer review." 2010-05-12

Took a bit of time and a couple of attempts to sync the printer with all of the computers in the house. But once this was done it has performed excellently. Great value for money for a reasonably specced wifi printer.

A great little printer but was very difficult to set-up. The paper instructions could have been better. The wireless connection took a lot of patience and the whole thing went down when I switched off my PC one night, and had to start again next day.Quality excellent and very fast printing, especially on draft mode. The printer is quite noisy when starting and finishing. Since the initial installation problems, it's working fine.

"Good for £40 and works with Linux too" 2010-04-27

Some things of note.

1. Wireless does not mean print server. You cant map to this thing over SMB. It just means the drivers send the print commands over wireless rather than over USB.

2. Although it has USB and wireless interfaces, you have to use one or the other. You cannot use one or the other. You can only use the scanner via USB, and if you leave it plugged in on the USB for the scanner function, you will not be able to print over the wireless from another computer. I find this irritating, but then this product did only cost £40, what can you expect?

3. Printer and scanner both work with Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (Karmic Koala). I found I needed to download the latest hplip drivers (3.10.2) to get Ubuntu to see the scanner. I also noticed that the option to connect to the printer wirelessly showed up once I installed that.

4. The Linux driver install just worked (none of the futzing about that sometimes comes with getting hardware to work with Linux).

5. Pretty fast printing (although I've only used "Fast Draft" so far).

6. Printed stuff just gets kicked out of the printer. If your printer is on a table, I guess it would just pile up on the table in front of the printer. Mine is on a shelf, so printed pages tend to come flying off the shelf as they leave the printer. This is a notable contrast to my previous printer, a DeskJet 959c, which would collect the pages in its out tray (but it was a slightly bulkier printer)

7. The USB and power cables stick out the back of the printer. Allow for that when looking at the dimensions, if space is a concern. They effectively add a few cm to the depth of the thing.

Overall, a printer and scanner that work with Linux for £40, not bad.
