"It does what it promises" 2010-05-22

Excellent reproduction. Black ink does not last long. But if you are buying this kind of specialist photo printer you are not going to using it for lots of printing pages off the internet.

I have recently tried printing an A3 photo just from a print screen and the result was excellent.

Very happy with it.

a superb printer...especially when married to continuous ink system LYSON this is 8X 60 ml ink bottle system ..... so A3s possible without breaking the bank

after a number of Epson printers...R 1900 is head and shoulders above the rest

 "ink ink ink ink" 2010-02-03
By N. Turpin (UK)
I bought the r1900 after having two r1800's the print quality is barely an improvement despite the extra orange ink and it performs particularly badly on Matt papers.

The biggest problem by far is the sheer use and waste of ink especially the gloss optimiser which is always running out, even when printing A4 letters. I would really like that explained to me. Sometimes I put a brand new gloss optimiser cartridge in and its run out inside two prints.

I would steer clear of this one.

"drinks ink like it's going out of style" 2010-02-02
By I. Laliberte (London, UK)
I bought this printer last year as I started my architecture studies. It does print beautifully, but BEWARE of the cost of the ink! I had read such reviews on Amazon, but dismissed them. Don't make the same mistake. There are 8 cartridges, and they cost about £10-£12 each. They are impossible to find in stores - only Cowling & Wilcox in Soho, Epson website or Amazon carry them, so I always need to buy an extra set ahead of time in case it starts to fail and I can't make the trek into central London, and they need to be replaced faster than you can say it. In 3 months, for not even printing that much, I had to change all the cartridges 3 times (so over £350 worth of ink!!), whilst I was printing at least twice as much on my trusty old HP printer and never had to change one cartridge on it...

Again, nice results, but seriously, buy a printer that won't break your bank!

"I was once happy, but now I'm sad" 2009-12-02

DOES NOT AND WILL NOT PRINT ON OFFICIAL EPSON CANVAS! DONT' WASTE 2 DAYS (I LITERALLY DID) TRYING TO GET IT TO WORK. IT WONT.

ITS ALSO EXPENSIVE TO RUN. I WOULD RATHER PAY MORE FOR A PRINTER THAT WILL WORK AND IS NOT UNRELIABLE.

IT WORKED GREAT UNTIL I TRIED CANVAS PRINTING. THATS WHEN WE FELL OUT.

HAD OVER 13MONTHS AND WONT PRINT AT ALL.

EPSON DONT CARE.
