This is my first CIS so I was a bit tentative converting a new Epson 1400 two years ago, particularly as there is a risk of breaking a small plastic hinge on the printer. The hinge isn't required for operation of the printer but there could have been a warranty issue if something failed . . . which it hasn't! There are a lot of guidelines how to avoid breaking the hinge but I couldn't take the cartridge cover off without breaking it! The instructions are clear and fitting was clean and easy taking about 30 minutes. I've printed about 3,000 prints (mainly A4 and A3 size) and the printer has been flawless with no clogging and perfect colour matching with each new supply of ink. When the indicated Epson ink level in one tank is reduced to 'zero', the CIS autmatically resets itself to 'full'. Re-charging the cartridges takes about 10 minutes and, again, is clean and easy. I estimated my ink cost per A4 print would be about a £1 with OEM inks; this is reduced to less than 10p with the CIS. A great buy for a great printer.

By no name
they do not work iv got one and it dosen't work most of the time and when it dose it needs ajusting with every picture. on top of that when i tryed to get the printer Calibrated it took then weeks to get back to me and there customer service is rubish. also to fit it you have to brake your printer which they don't tell you till youve brought it.

"Excellent value and great results" 2009-02-16

I have had Fotospeed inkflow systems for my 2 printers (2400 and 1400) as I needed a pigment and a dye printer depending on what I was doing for quite a while now. Both have performed extremely well, one has even outlasted the printer! (meaning that I had to get another printer, but never mind).

Beyond the fact that they are so economical to run I would not even dream of using cartridges anymore, the quality is outstanding (but then I often print on Fotospeed papers and have them profiled).

I would point out that unlike the other customer who has had problems with the system, I found the after care great, although it is true that they sometimes took a few days to answer my queries. They also have on one occasion sent me spare parts when I damaged one of the elbows in the system for free and helped when I had to reload the system onto the new printer, advising as to what to do when one of the chips came loose.

"Fotospeed CIF for R1400 Epson" 2009-02-03
By Mr. R. M. Bridges
The printer is ok but the inkflow system is rubbish. After setting up it worked fine for about 25 A3 prints. Now it will not print out black. After 25 nozzle cleans and wasted ink I reinstalled the system but to no avail. Have contacted Fotospeed but have had no reply. WHAT A LOAD OF DISAPOINTING RUBBISH!!!!!!!
